Paleo Diet

Sauteed shrimp, asparagus, salad, clementines, and roasted acorn squash with cinnamon

So I unofficially started the Paleo diet last Monday.  Basically it comes down to you can eat almost anything with the exception of dairy, wheat, beans, and processed sugar. Since starting, I dropped about 5lbs, but my goal wasn't to lose that much so fast.  I'm scared I'm going to lose muscle instead of fat. The first 2 days of the diet, I felt pretty good.  Then the following 3 days I felt a little nauseous which could have stemmed from my carb/sugar addiction or all of the yeast dying in my body from lack of sugar (just something I read before).  So far so good on this diet. I've wanted bread like never before and I'm not even a huge bread eater.

Weight on Monday was 161 - weight today is 156.

Below is just a salad with homemade guacamole, olive oil, and lemon juice, asparagus, almond slivers, acorn squash, clementines, and shrimp sauteed with cilantro, olive oil, garlic, and lemon.

Now below is the best ever beef laab.  I found the recipe at Thaitable.com.  It was just as good as my mom's!  I'm so excited I finally made a delicious batch.  To make it paleo, I left out the toasted rice and ate it wrapped in lettuce.

It's Been A While

It's totally been a while!  I kind of forgot about this blog, then didn't renew my subscription to my old domain.  I tried to return a few times after that, but couldn't figure out how to get my old post back.  If I tried a little harder, I would have figured out all I had to do was redirect the website. Duh.  Well, I'm back at it and I may or may not have added 60 pounds since I last blogged. I can't remember exactly where I was at before Well, now I'm ready to live my best live in 2020.  Or it was going that way until, well we all know what is happening right now.  I stopped running back in 2014.  I went from a job where I sit on my butt all day, to one where I walk all day.  I wore ballet flats and in about 2 months, I managed to get plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, cramping arches, bad knees, hurting hip, and fibromyalgia. UGH!   So here I am trying to figure out the best way to workout.  I decided to blog again because o...

Beach Body & Shakeology

I cancelled my Planet Fitness membership yesterday because of the COVID.  My gym looks like they are taking the proper precautions, but I just don't want to risk it.  I signed up for Beachbody on demand for a year and planning on working out at home and outdoors for the year.  I've been vacationing in Maryland and haven't done much of anything except eat since I've been here.  I haven't been following weight watchers or a plant-based diet and my body is feeling it.  I ordered the Shakeology because there was a huge discount if you ordered at the same time as purchasing a subscription. I can't wait to try it based on the ingredients and how it's supposed to help your body.  I've read reviews, but not sure I can trust them because they all seem to be coming from Beachbody coaches so consider me as a real person who is giving an honest review and trying Shakeology for the first time.  I'm starting 21-Day Fix on Monday and will use Shak...

WOD - LLEDE FITNESS

So I found this iPad app called LLEDE FITNESS by lledescheduling llc and it's nothing fancy at all, but there is a daily workout that you can do. You can pick from beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Straight. To the point. No frills. I love it. Yesterday I did this workout: 3 Rounds Bench squats 25 30 walking lunges (weighted) jump squats 10 split squats 1 minute plank I can't walk.
